The History & Benefits of Hot Stone Massage

~Hot Stone Massage~
Heat and Massage! Two of the most therapeutic prescriptions for muscle tension and discomfort. Hot Stone Massage blends these two therapies into one incredible treatment with profound results.
Historically, nearly every culture has used the combination of heat, massage and stones as therapeutic tools. A few main cultures that have had major influences..on modern day stone therapies are the Native Americans, the Chinese, the Hawaiians and Ayurvedic traditions in India.  We can thank them for creating a therapy that continues to heal people thousands of years later!
Smooth basalt stones are used during a hot stone massage. Because of the high iron content, basalt is able to retain heat better than other stones, keeping them at about 125 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the session. Some of the stones will be used as 'placement' stones on specific areas of the body to warm tissue and to activate energetic flow. You can expect to have placement stones along your spine, in the palms of your hands, and in between your toes. While the placement stones are doing their work, the therapist will begin massaging another part of the body with different stones as an extension of their hands, gliding the hot rocks over your body, releasing heat deep into your muscles, loosening tension, breaking up adhesions and inducing a state of deep relaxation and tranquility.
Whatever your intention for trying hot stone massage, you can be assured that it will be a very grounding, calming and healing experience. Let us help you experience something wonderful and transformative!

This week only:  Experience hot stone massage for $69.
