Toni's Tips for Winterizing Your Skin

Treatment Tips
~Winterizing Your Skin~
The winter months can really wreak havoc on your skin. The cold air, wind and heaters in our homes and cars can make for a dry, dull & lackluster complexion. I've listed 5 easy steps that will keep your skin fresh and hydrated all season long.
1.   Switch your cleanser. A milky, cream based cleanser will provide the extra moisture you need while protecting your lipid barrier.
2.   Switch from an astringent to a toner. Lots of astringents are alcohol based or contain some type of drying agent.
3.   Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Try switching to a richer moisturizer at night. Look for creams containing “good for you oils” like raspberry, blueberry and grape seed oils.
4.   Exfoliate at least twice per week. Dead skin cells tend to build up on the surface of the skin, making it look dull and creating a barrier which will minimize product absorption.
5.   Drink lots of water! We hear this all the time, and it’s a fact. Water not only hydrates the skin (the largest organ of our body), but it also helps rid the body of harmful toxins. We must protect our skin by caring for it inside and out!
